PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position will develop and implement the visual components of a unified, brand right store experience that presents our priorities in a compelling way while delivering financial goals for specified business and/or space. This individual will work with the Visual Merchandising VP/Director to develop the Visual merchandising strategy, brand standards, and a road map for a specified business and/or space for the stores to follow.
They will consult with leaders of MPD, Merchandising, PD&D, ISM and Store/Fixture design to elevate in-store presentation and drive sales for the specified area by utilizing visual merchandising principles, color theories, and through knowledge of competitor presentation best-practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop visual merchandising strategy and brand standards for specific business and / or space.
2. Understands strategic merchandising initiatives for areas of accountability and develop visual concepts for each season and merchant initiative based on the visual merchandising roadmap.
3. Partner with Core MPD, Fixturing, Marketing and Store Operations to communicate and execute visual concepts for each season and merchant initiative based on Visual Merch Roadmap.
4. Partner with field Visual Merchandising leadership to ensure consistent high quality execution of visual ideas through providing vision and tools, creating communications and training content, and performing audits.
5. Supports Director in preparation for Senior Leadership alignment walk throughs.
6. Leads visual presentation on innovation and re-invent projects.
7. Develop the in-store visual strategy in partnership with guest insights, PD&D, MPD and Merch SVPs on all designated visual impact areas within the store.
8. Determine new ways to create strategic VIA’s or shops that will help to draw guests into apparel and home floor pads, and drive traffic through the various brands.
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to Vice President, Visual Merchandising.
Heavy influence role across Merchandising SVPs and VPs, Director MPD, VPs Product Design and Development, Director Store Operations, Marketing BCMs, and Store Design / Fixture Design in Target Properties
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• 4 year college degree in Visual Merchandising, Art, Design, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
• 6-8 years of visual merchandising experience.
• 3 or more years of corporate headquarters visual merchandising experience.
• Strong project management skills.
• Global cultural awareness and sophisticated fashion sense and style required.
• Strong vendor relationships and knowledge of material production preferred.
