Logistics Manager for a complex, multi-year, mission critical DoD communications infrastructure upgrade.
Defines, plans, analyzes, and coordinates logistics support activities related to procurement and maintenance of hardware, systems, and components. Reviews and evaluates logistics plans and technical evaluations.
Reviews, evaluates, and modifies program acquisition documentation. Interfaces with customer and other designated government agencies.
Attends program reviews, technical meetings, Integrated Product Team meetings and briefings as required.
Implements Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) functions for assigned projects to include: research, analyses of customer and statutory requirements, preparing required documentation, and ensuring quality control.
Drafts various logistics type documentation, e.g., Integrated Support Plan (ISP), Integrated Logistic Support Plan (ILSP), Materiel Fielding Plan (MFP), etc. Identifies, analyzes, and reports logistics budget data.
Analyzes and assesses technical documentation, e.g., manuals, drawings, specifications and source controls.
Develops and implements standard procedures to ensure testing, documentation, updates, quality control, and configuration management requirements are considered in the development of the equipment system. Provides ILS input to the technical proposal preparation process and ensures necessary safeguards for proprietary data.
Confers with user/customer to resolve logistics problems.
Must be familiar with the principles of purchasing, handling, control and transportation of material and other property.
Works independently.
Develops, upgrades and improves systems for tracking and reporting material, material handling procedures and scheduling.
Directs and supervises subcontractor analysts or logisticians.
Must have knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DOD) plans, policies, standards, and methods aimed at the acquisition, test, certification and implementation support of software, hardware, network, network security and computer resources.
Must be capable of assessing recommendations, developing solutions, and driving the team to resolution of logistics challenges on the program.
10-20% travel may be required.
10 years’ experience plus Bachelor’s Degree in technical or engineering discipline or fifteen years demonstrated experience in a relevant field. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Must be accustomed to interacting with senior DoD Civilian and Military leadership.
Required Clearance: DoD security clearance level of SECRET to support coordinated work on SECRET facilities and networks.
