Network Specialist - Journeyman (Government)

AT&T - COLUMBIA, Maryland

Work Location: Joint Base Andrews

• Provide second level support for local area network (LAN), campus area network (CAN), and wide area network (WAN) solutions encompassing heterogeneous platforms.
• Operational monitoring technician that provides experienced shift personnel to monitor AFNCR production efforts 24/7/365 and report issues and statuses to AFNCR leadership.
• Must understand how systems and services are interconnected to ease monitoring and reporting, manage tickets in Remedy, including detailed and accurate documentation of ticket steps and events, manage Account Management Queue in Remedy and assign account creation tickets.
• Must monitor SolarWinds console and SCOM console for events.
• Must monitor PDS alarms and inform 744CS Maintenance Operations Center (MOC), applies patches to servers, create user accounts, and patch across four (4) enclaves.
• Establishes and maintains security and integrity standards and controls.
• Assists in the evaluation, testing and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer need.
• Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Security Certification. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science. Three to five (3-5) years supporting operations centers supporting 15,000 or more customers and integrating service providers for a blend of basic and premier customers.
