ACME Markets, one of the most prominent retailers in Greater Philadelphia, has recently expanded its store base in the New York, Connecticut, and Northern New Jersey markets. ACME Markets is a division of Albertsons, one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States. The ACME Summer Merchandising Internship provides students with an excellent hands-on opportunity to experience a growing company in a fast-paced corporate environment. The 12-week program gives each intern the opportunity to participate in cross-functional projects and gain exposure to the senior leadership team. After a general introduction to the merchandising function, students will be engaged in valuable projects and will make a difference in their assigned department. Interns will have the opportunity to present their findings and recommendations to the senior leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. Candidates must be full-time students majoring in a field of business.
PROGRAM FOCUS
The intern is scheduled to work a 40 hour work week at our Store Support Center in Malvern, PA. Interns will work directly with a member of the merchandising team to support various sales-driving projects and initiatives. The program will provide ample opportunity to apply classroom learning theory to real-life business situations. Several group meetings and field trips are included to continuously engage each student. Upon completion of the 12-week program, the Intern is evaluated and a mutual decision is made concerning their interest in future full-time employment with ACME Markets.
