Manager, Omni Merchandise Planning - Ann Taylor Factory

The Omni Merchandise Planning Manager, in support of organizational objectives, sets the workload and pace for the team providing necessary framework and deadlines for workload management. Manage and implement financial and multichannel integration strategies that are client focused. Manage partners with the Director/Senior Director to develop functional goals and set priorities for the season across both channels of business. Oversees financial sales, gross margin and inventory plans for departments at all levels. Ensures markdown and promotional strategies support departmental goals. Provide in-season financial projections and strategies, and determine short and long term business needs by using retail financial measurements. Identify risks and opportunities to maximize profits. Drive projects resulting in improved departmental systems and efficiencies. Recruits and train top planning talent. Develop associates to help them grow and learn as individuals contributors, work as a team and better serve our client and business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

•  Manage/support career development process of teams to ensure team engagement, talent retention and development

•  Create strategies for succession planning through long term team development plans and cross-functional and cross brand partnership

•  Lead team projects to expand planning tool capabilities and efficiencies

•  Serve as functional expert on cross-functional task forces intended to drive overall profitability or efficiency

•  Work with cross-functional partners to communicate division-level financial merchandising plans to support financial objectives

•  Communicate financial strategies in both pre-season plan meetings and quarterly investment review meetings

•  Present top-line strategies for area of responsibility in monthly merchandise planning review meetings

•  Work with planners to communicate departmental strategies as well as weekly recaps to present key financial analysis and recommendations to Senior Leadership

•  Participate in weekly retail strategy meetings to develop financially sound plans and contingencies for both pre-

season and in-season management

•  Communicate all workflow drivers to store operations on a weekly basis

•  Work with cross-functional partners to develop promotional and markdown strategies to maximize profitability

•  Ensure planner markdown strategies maximize profit and timely liquidation to better the departmental potential

•  Analyze promotional effectiveness and make future recommendations

•  Identify and communicate potential inventory liabilities and drive appropriate actions to resolution

•  Participate in developing processes that build efficiencies and streamline work streams

•  Analyze quarterly hindsight for multiple categories

 


 

Requirements:

  Bachelors degree, or advanced degree, and 7-10  years of retail buying, planning or financial analysis experience

  E-Commerce experience is strongly preferred

  3-4 years prior manager experience in a retail planning role

  Proven track record leading winning teams

  Results driven; strategic, conceptual and innovative thinker

  Expert command of retail math concepts, applications and statistical analysis

  Posses strong communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional partners

  Ability to develop realistic work plans, goals and schedules

  Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills

  Ability to work productively in a team environment

  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
