Computer Usage

Recordkeeping and Data Entry
Compile and communicate information on operational decisions, trends and historical information. Identify trends using reports, on-floor leaders, technician input, camera footage, and issue escalation tracking to identify successes and process improvement opportunities. Prioritize opportunities and participate in process improvement task assignment and some execution. Identify opportunities to improve training or support processes in both automated and manual portions of building, as well as control center operations. Develop and communicate recommendations with building senior leadership and HQ teams. Analyze and interpret data for weekly and monthly recaps and trend analysis. Present analysis to operational department Senior Group Leaders and senior team to drive department and building performance aligning with building goals. Also act as primary contact to share analysis and performance with Group team and HQ teams.
 
Data Analysis
Communication: Create and communicate production and staffing plans for shift with GLs. Update the team on progress, adjustments and the impact to plans.  Ensure executives understand and are informed of the buildings upcoming priorities and contingency plans to achieve positive DPR and LOS results.  Participate in bi-weekly Production Controller conference calls to stay current on events and updates to tools and processes.  Share process communication with executive team and, when necessary, coordinate communication from HQ on system issues, enhancements and shut-downs to minimize the impact on workload.  Liaison between senior team and operations. Provide production updates hourly and at end of shift to senior leaders as needed.  Communicate decisions to GLs and TMs along with why/impact of decision. Update daily staffing info, phone recording, start-up announcements, etc. per current PC responsibilities.  Synthesize and transmit information as single POC between Symbotic Roverpick operator and Target operations team. Share assessment of Symbotic/Target relationship to PCC SGL when needed.
 
Budgeting
Staff Planning:  Build daily and long-term staffing discussions with the senior group leaders, considering the impact on cross-training, seasonal strategies, the mass-posting process and the impact of overtime.  Creates weekly staffing and volume plans with support from techs. Organizes weekly staffing decision communication.  Review long term staffing plans with the senior team, assist with hiring volume decision. Participate with the senior team in the development of business plans.  Assist in the planning and staffing technical training and development of new executives.  First point of contact for warehousing and clerical events that impact staffing levels or special events. May lead building-level committees and events, coordinating teams of GLs and TMs to ensure events are executed successfully and aligned with building and company goals. Leadership opportunities also include but are not exclusive or limited to the following: building capacity management, freight special events, downtime or holiday shutdown planning, Best Practice committees, safety committees or Events committees.  Will act as primary contact for out-of-building support partners in each area as needed, such as HQ capacity process team, Assurance team, etc.
 
Logistics Strategy
Operational Performance: Discuss and drive Customer/Supplier relationships, DPR and LOS goals and objectives during regular department floor walks with SGLs and GLs. Make decisions for all areas of operations based on available information. Gather data from multiple sources including equipment monitoring tools, on-floor leaders, technicians, camera footage, and reporting tools, and consolidate into daily operational strategy. Use production planning tool (PPT) to build operational plans including staff allocation and carton volumes through each department. Appoint staff by dept. Share production plans for key with GL team. Uses experience and data to project staffing and optimal operational plans for longer range view of each week. Shares week-long planning view with GL and SGL teams and makes recommendations based on long-range plans. Regulate building operations through periodic reviews of department and building progress to LOS, goals, and plan throughout shift. Understand when to make a change in staffing or volume plans; develop contingencies and act on them/delegate to others to act on contingencies. Receive escalated issues from techs, develop and execute on contingencies when appropriate to minimize negative impact to throughput and LOS.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Expectations: 4 year degree or equivalent

Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to motivate teams and resolve conflict.  Basic PC skills .Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility. Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others. Ability to lead, coach, and influence executives on operational strategies.  Resiliency and adaptability must be a strength.  Strong prioritization, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.  Detail oriented.  Ability to navigate multiple levels of the organization and foster inclusive culture.  Applicable management/supervisory experience or 12 months minimum as a Group Leader

Job Related Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience
Specific Experience: Manufacturing or distribution background  Experience in 2 or more departments/areas in a distribution center. Desire to grow to Senior Group Leader or Distribution HQ position or higher. Open to relocation
