The Government Lead Systems Design Engineer will provide LTEspeed, Northstar, and SATSTAR specific technical expertise to support Air/Ground Programs. The candidate must be able to interact with program and technical members of the Sales and Program Teams to develop strategic plans to influence customer and network design decisions. The candidate must have an understanding of transport networks (e.g. ATM, IP, Private line, Satellite, Line-of-site radio) and be able to comprehend upcoming network applications. Work complexity involves developing and supporting custom offers for the Federal, State, and Local Governments and commercial markets involving standard/custom network services, customized enterprise management solutions, special security services and solutions, and a variety of professional services support. Proposal support for Air/Ground based opportunities will be one primary responsibility for this position.
Responsibilities associated with this position include:
Responsible for engineering support of all Air/Ground programs;
Responsible for coordinating various AT&T teams to satisfy issues/problems as they occur;
Provide executive level reports as required on program issues, risks and financial status;
Make technical presentations at sales meetings and customer forums;
Support proposal initiatives to retain and grow business as each contract comes up for re-competition or potential engineering change proposals are identified; Dissemination of technical knowledge as well as the training associated with design changes and new product launches;
Assists other technical employees by providing expert advice, training, and technical guidance as necessary in areas listed above;
Support capture team processes, pre and post-sale;
Support development of teaming strategies.
An individual in this position must be highly motivated, able to quickly identify and analyze problems, and clearly articulate the likely path forward to resolution. A candidate must also have an appreciation and complete understanding for rigid change management processes, a commitment to customer service, provide continuous system availability and have an ability to think logically and methodically in a crisis. Office Location will be Bellvue, NE, but the successful candidate will be required to travel to customer and deployed locations 5-7 days a month on average.
No relocation. Must have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years experience in providing Air/Ground technical designs and documentation; 10 years with line-of-sight RF systems, capacity management and network/systems deployment and planning experience; 10 years expertise in deploying complex solutions as well as life-cycle management and reporting.
US Citizen, with a Top Secret clearance (SSBI with 2 years remaining), and possess a valid driver’s license.
Experience in system deployment, installation, and maintenance to include antennas, RF components, networking components, and computer systems.
