Sr Member of Technical Staff - (FirstNet)

AT&T - VIENNA, Virginia

Overall Purpose: Develops solutions to complex business and technical problems or issues of complex scope using advanced engineering and scientific principles.
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Applies engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that requires in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise.   
 
Develops end to End Architecture solution for new public safety services. Leads small to medium sized projects and technical breadth. Develop solutions using in-depth technical knowledge in one or more telecom technologies/network architecture and industry experience. Works with project team to gather/analyze functional and non-functional requirements and translate requirements to technical solutions.
Provides E2E technical expertise on the Project and has ability to explain proposed solutions to various team members. Coordinates/Prepares design, development & testing documents as needed. Lead/Participate in technical design review. Supports/Leads creation of a roadmap/solution that evolves a product from TTM to TTV in partnership with various teams.

Education: Required: PhD, Masters or Bachelor’s degree in an approved field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mathematics from an accredited university. Refer to the Technical Title Plan for a complete list of degrees.
 
Experience: PhD in an approved field with no minimum years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
 
Knowledge of emerging public safety technologies (MCV, GCSE, ProSe,MC-PTT) with the ability to analyze challenges in the design and application of new technologies .
 
Knowledge/Experience in RF Design, Planning & Engineering using industry relevant tools. Knowledge and experience with E911/CALEA and location based design/services. Working level proficiency of small cell architecture and backhaul design.
 
Has ability to design/engineer for cloud environment and in depth knowledge of SDN/NFV technologies.

Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
