Senior System Engineer (Government)

AT&T - COLUMBIA, Maryland

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the Lead Senior Specialist System Design Engineer.

• The candidate will provide enterprise system engineering leadership and system troubleshooting support to telecommunication application development teams across diverse geographic locations.
• The candidate will be responsible for coordinating meetings, documenting requirements/system design decisions and providing significant contribution to the system engineering efforts within the telecom application development teams.
• The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize work items.
• Additionally, the candidate will be required to support the analysis and troubleshooting of end-to-end operational system problems and coordinate the associated engineering to correct the problem.
• In this lead position, the candidate will provide mentorship for more junior members of the system engineering team.

• Minimum 14 years technical experience in telecom systems engineering.
• Familiarity with mobility networks (3G/4G/5G), IMS, TDM and VoIP is required.
  
• Master’s Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Experience writing requirements and coordinating/negotiating the design and implementation of those requirements with all stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal communications skills, with experience giving briefings.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment as a self-starter.
• Working knowledge of networks and the associated technologies including routers, firewalls, and cross-domain solutions.
• Experience supporting an operation environment to include management of customer and mission needs and balancing those needs with software deployments.
• 3 years of scripting experience – Python or equivalent.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI W/ Polygraph

Desired:

• Experience with and understanding of enterprise cloud technologies and the associated applications.
• Understanding of Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization.
• Direct experience with AT&T telecommunication systems, Domain 2.0 preferred.
