Responsibilities include: Job Description: Systems Administrator (Mid – Senior) is needed to join a team whose goal supporting internal infrastructure and direct to contract of multiple programs. The SysAdmin will work both as an individual contributor and team member on converged projects. The position will require the ability to analyze and develop system administrative practices consistent with company and customer policies. Support includes both hardware and software in diverse environments. Support of operational baseline environments including: VMware, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Linux Servers, may include OpenStack. The SysAdmin will monitor daily operations and resolve problems as needed, perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis while working with developers to identify problems and resolutions with in-house and over the counter software applications. The individual will be expected to manage team efforts as directed for support of major support objectives. |
Required Skills, Experience, and Education: The required skills are: 10-15 years of Mid - Senior level of systems administration activities. Key areas of focus include but not limited to: understanding of processor, storage, and network virtualization technologies, including Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisors (VMWare / OpenStack). The ideal candidate will have a general experience in systems administration within the Windows family of operating systems. Degree in a STEM related field computer science, CMIS, IFMS is ideal (BS/BA degree) desired, lower education not yet having resulted in a degree will be reviewed; All work will be performed in Columbia, MD, Fort Meade, MD or at the client locations nearby; no relocation is authorized. Required Clearance: The candidate must be a US Citizen; cleared to the TS/SCI (with Lifestyle polygraph) level is required.
Desired: BS/BA degree is desirable; Windows Server/Workstation and Microsoft Infrastructure components such as AD, DNS, DHCP and Networking, Linux background a plus, VMWare, and Openstack. Documentation experience is a plus. |
