Software Developer Intern (Government)

AT&T - COLUMBIA, Maryland

We have several openings for software development interns working in an agile development and engineering environment. The selected candidates will use an agile Scrum based framework to collaborate with peer software engineers, systems engineers, customers, and lifecycle tier support personnel. The technology domains include cyber security, internet of things(IoT) and data analytics

• Educational and/or real world experience in software development or related major.
• Comfortable with programming in languages such as C, C , Java, JavaScript and/or a scripting language such as shell or Python in a Linux environment.
• Solid working understanding of Linux is required.
• Significant progress towards the eventual award of a BS degree in Computer Science/Math or related technical discipline is preferred
• U.S. Citizen

Desired:
A strong interest in one of the focus areas (cyber security, IoT, data analytics) with experience in one or more of the following areas: knowledge of basic networking principles such as the IP protocol suite (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc); large-scale databases such as Hadoop or MongoDB; MEAN stack development; Android SDK development; IoT sensor integration with single board computers such as Raspberry Pi’s, machine learning using Spark, R or Python; RESTful API’s.
