Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Scott AFB, IL is partnering with the U.S. Army and Air Force to fundamentally change the way the Department of Defense (DoD) secures and protects its information networks by deploying Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS). Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS) are designed for security of the network to be centralized into regional architectures instead of locally distributed architectures at each military base, post, camp or station. This position directly supports the DISA-provided JRSS capabilities and services as a member of our Tier team. We work in a performance-based environment where our performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreements (SLA) or Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of routing protocols, specifically BGP, OSPF, OSPFv3.
• Configure of routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and implementation of access control lists in different environments.
• Responsible for routing and switching (VPN, VLAN, BGP, and HSRP)
• Provide problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience, expert opinion and standard operating procedures, including immediate resolution where possible.
• Responsible for the configuration, performance, availability, and security of the JRSS network architecture.
• Identify and document network errors, propose solutions for network problems and work with appropriate personnel to achieve resolultion.
• Interface with users and support organizations to ensure smooth flow of communications in all directions.

 Required Experience, Education, and Certifications:

• 8-10 years of IT experience with an IT related degree
• Ability to work independently
• DoD 8570 Level 2 IAT or equivalent (Security CE)

Desired Experience, Education, and Certifications:

• CCNA or CCNP
• ITIL v3 Foundation certified
• Ability to communicate orally, and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.
• Familiarization of DOD regulations and directives.
• Equally proficient in Juniper and Cisco configuration, troubleshooting, and design.
• Experience with Cisco IOS XR, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS codes.
• Perl or other language scripting capable of running backup configs and other scripting to pull information from Cisco/Juniper routers
• IPSEC configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• MPLS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• QoS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• Voice and video over IP configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience. • IPV6 configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• Security certification and/or knowledge of DDoS and other attack vectors experienced in today' networks.
• Crypto configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
• Layer 2/3 VPN and Firewall knowledge and experience.
• Physical cable plant and wiring experience.

Required Clearance: Active SECRET, clearable to Top Secret
