About the
Position:
Merchandising
leaders are responsible for creating and driving the merchandising strategy for
multiple categories, driving integrated, profitable, relevant product
assortments, which express the brand vision in the marketplace; ensure that the
business is aligned to the corporate strategies of the assortment; play a
leadership role within the merchandising function and the greater
cross-functional team.
Responsibilities:

Drive top-line financial objectives to achieve sales and margin plans
·
Analyze business to capture current trends and recommend future actions
that will maximize sales opportunity and minimize liability
·
Drive the business through a global understanding and vision of the
business, market and industry
·
Identify growth opportunities and maximize returns by balancing current
trends, future trends and past successes
·
Partner with Planning cross-functional partners to recommend and
implement profitable markdown and/or liquidation strategies
·
Drive integrated, profitable, relevant seasonal product assortments that
express the brand vision
·
Orchestrate team effort to build and edit line based on knowledge of the
business needs, fashion trends and competition
·
Lead Line Review and Store Coordination to meet client expectations and
identify areas of opportunity; ensure wardrobability of the line
·
Oversee weekly fit sessions efficiently and effectively working with
design and tech teams to ensure specs are interpreted appropriately
·
Create the seasonal framework strategies and collaborate with Planning
and Production to ensure business needs are met
·
Competitively shop on a regular basis for current and appropriate
fashion trends, price points and promotional opportunities
·
Partner with Visual Team to enhance in-store presentations – ensuring
big product stories and the brand point of view are represented
·
Streamline processes, improve efficiencies and formulate and implement
strategies to grow the business
·
Collaborate with other leaders to ensure that all categories contribute
toward a cohesive collection
·
Provide consistent leadership, motivation and direction to direct team
as well as within the greater cross-functional team
·
Manage priorities and expectations to ensure team efficiency and
effectiveness
·
Maximize cross-functional effectiveness
·
Partner with associates to provide a stimulating work environment
·
Build bench strength and retain talent
Requirements:
·
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
·
8-10 years related experience
·
Results oriented, high energy leader with the vision, leadership and
management skills required to direct, motivate and inspire a team
·
Outstanding conceptual skills and merchandising vision
·
Broad business knowledge
·
Strong product sense and knowledge
·
Strong quantitative analysis skills
·
