The Lead Selector will be primarily responsible for the coaching function in the night warehouse. In conjunction with the shift supervisor, the Lead will be the key point of contact for all new selectors throughout their 90 day introductory period. Nightly throughout this time, the lead will:
Demonstrate, teach and reinforce preferred work methods
Perform nightly observations on employees in their first 30 days of employment
Ensure completion of all LMS coursework for each new hire
Partner with the safety specialist to ensure all safety training is completed and reinforced
Focus on retention of new hires by helping them build solid pallets, increase accuracy and productivity, learn how to achieve 100% productivity and earn incentive pay
Be a mentor and invest fully in ensuring the success of each new hire
Consistent reporting to management on a set schedule as to the status of each new hire
This is a full time training position. At any given time, the trainer will have several new employees at different stages of experience and productivity.
The key indicators of success for the Lead Selector/Trainer will be: retention of new hires, the speed at which new hires attain full accuracy and productivity, and any other duties aimed at successful on-boarding of new selectors.
Provide nightly constructive direction to new selectors
Perform nightly audits on the accuracy of the work of new selectors
Gather survey data from new hires and/or provide reporting on the success rate of new selectors with regard to KPIs.
Will perform any other duties, to include order selection, clerk coverage, etc, depending on business need.
Education/Training: High School Education or GED preferred; Must be at least 18 years of age.
Related Experience: Previous comparable warehouse experience with pallet jack or high lift required. Prior experience or at least 1 year providing training to new employees and re-training experienced employees is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); good verbal communication skills; Must be team oriented and able to get along with others. Must be able to deliver feedback to employees in a constructive, collaborative way.
