As a Private Brand Merchandise Coordinator, you will drive sales and profitability for assigned locations, with primary focus on merchandise execution and brand integrity. This role is directly responsible for elevating presentation standards for Private Brand funded initiatives. You will also actively drive elevated Selling functions with Product Knowledge training, scheduling, coordinating and participating in successful events within your assigned stores. You will act as a coach and train store management and associates to leverage My Client Relationships to drive sales thru events and increased My Client penetration. Coordinators will also support MTMs in the development and training of PBSS/MSS associates with the responsibility of merchandise execution and “best in class merchandising” for our key focus brands. This position reports to Private Brands District Manager. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Merchandise Presentation:
• Demonstrate “best in class” merchandising and visual presentation standards.
• Ensure flawless execution of Brand standards and directives.
• Coach team of PBSS/MSS and Merchandise Team associates to ensure highest level of brand presentation and execution standards.
• Exercise influence with regards to space and location by sharing feedback with PBDM and store partners.
• Partner with District and Store Visual executives to ensure execution and utilization of all branded directives, collateral and capital.
• Be proactive at communicating any and all updates with regards to space and location, competition, store visits and special initiatives.
• Partner with District and Store teams on all floor moves, special projects, workload planning, visit prep, etc.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with key partners in the stores and district. (VPSM, MTM, SM, Associates, DM, My-Stylist & RMD partners)
• Partner with Store Managers on the execution of planned business-driving strategies at the store level
• Actively plan, organize and lead training seminars for associates within your assigned stores
• Help to identify My Macy's opportunities within your focus doors and communicate feedback regularly to supervisor.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Magic Selling and Customer Experience:
• Reinforce and role-model magic behavior during store visits.
• Train staff on product knowledge and merchandise presentation in order to enhance our customers shopping experience.
• Train staff on building My client relationships and work with specialists to expand current MY client base to grow the business thru increased My Client penetration
• Communicate and train store management and associates on new product launch strategies and initiatives.
• Conduct regular store visits to drive & lead customer events including 1 focused selling Saturday per month.
• Develop strong store relationships and communicate issues pertaining to selling/service, & product information to PBDM.
• Coordinate merchandise information meetings with store team to continue expanding associates’ product knowledge and selling techniques to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• 4 year degree preferred.
• 1-2 years management experience with demonstrated merchandising skills.
Communication Skills:
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instruction documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math skills inclusive of understanding basics of retail reporting.
Reasoning Ability:
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong decision making skills.
Physical Demands:
• This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking.
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
Other Skills:
• Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills.
Work Hours:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including night & weekend hours, based upon store/company business needs and scheduled events.
