Overview:

Provides a high level of leadership and guidance to the Operations Management in multiple areas of the facility. Manages the daily activities and develops short and long term strategic planning of the operations to ensure facility and organization goals and objectives are achieved.

 

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate a mastery of leadership competencies, that include (but not limited to) driving results through others, achieve and innovate, develop high performing teams & the ability to hold others accountable to results.

• Develop and maintain a work culture committed to Engagement of all associates and superior customer service, while maintaining procedures and metrics to ensure customer service satisfaction levels are attained.

• Responsible for driving and managing the change associated with organizational growth.

• Manages and develops direct reports toward individual growth and performance excellence.

• Teaches others (at all levels) the required leadership skills to drive results

• Uses candid and timely feedback to build trust with their direct reports and associates

• Communicates and Influences at all levels of the organization

• Reacts to feedback and impacts change within the facility

• Is curious in understanding root cause issues and asks probing questions to seek understanding

• Identify, develop, and implement short and long term strategies which enhance, productivity and efficiency for each of the operations departments.

• Provide leadership to engage all operations departments in support of company profit objectives and customer service goals.

• Manage all operations including but not limited to management communications, staff balancing and work assignments, work scheduling and processing, and throughput levels.

• Ensure departments meet or exceed performance requirements in the areas of safety, shortage, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service and execution to plan.

• Analyze work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement process improvements.

• Responsible for management of all aspects of inventory control.

• Coordinate budget preparation and execution with operations by functional area.

• Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.

• Maintains a high level of inventory accuracy and shortage control through enforcement of proper procedures and company policies.

• Works with senior management as a cohesive group to support the major components of the business operations: Finance, Human Resources, and Operations.

• Develops / implements and ensures that all accuracy, service and quality programs meet /exceed a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for the development of training programs and ensures staff understanding of programs.

• Ensures consistent, thorough timely communication to subordinates, peers and senior management.

• Writes and conducts performance reviews for Managers.

• Performs other related duties, special projects or assignments as required.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

 

Communication Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

 

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to make sound decisions and manage several processes in a fast paced environment.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skill, with an emphasis on process improvement, installing and maintaining best practices in the operational areas.

• Identifying and presenting opportunities for process and solution improvement.

 

Physical Demands:

• This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking.

• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Ability to build and foster teams, gain commitment from others and effectively manage the decision making process.
