Overview:
 
Responsible for managing all collection operations of Early Age Collections department; monitoring the progress of team members ; providing direction to maintain accounts receivable delinquency and bad debt losses within company operating objectives; ensuring department objectives are met in compliance with Macy's, business partners' and legal standards; interviewing, hiring, training, directing, managing, coaching, developing, coordinating, evaluating and disciplining direct and indirect reports; performing other duties as assigned.
 
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage staffing levels and maintain efficiency and productivity within Early Age Collections.
  • Manage the progress of Early Age Collectors.
  • Maintain accounts receivable delinquency and bad debt losses within Company operating guidelines. Ensure Macy's priorities are met such as Collections Metrics, ASA (Average Speed of Answer), Abort Rate, Flow Rates, and Intensity Goals.
  • Interview, hire, train, direct, manage, coach, develop, coordinate, evaluate, and discipline direct and indirect reports; provide developmental opportunities; plan, assign, direct and manage work; establish strategy for work; provide insight and decision support; direct and manage team to meet or exceed performance and behavioral expectations; address complaints and resolve problems from employees.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Skills Summary:

 

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of experience required. Bachelor's degree from four year college or university and one to two years of related experience preferred.

 

Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions required.

 

Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, and feel; frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.; requires close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Other Skills: Ability to manage and develop staff and monitor daily workflow; strong analytical skills; outstanding written and verbal communication with all levels of management within MCCS, MST, Stores teams, .com, and partner vendors; computer navigation and keyboarding skills; ability to provide outstanding customer service to external and internal customers on a consistent basis; supervisory experience.  

 

Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.

  • Sunday: 10:00am - 7:00pm
  • Monday & Tuesday: 9:00am - 10:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
