Lead Test Engineer (Government)

AT&T - COLUMBIA, Maryland

AT&T is looking for a Lead Test Engineer to assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. You will play a vital role in the success of our product. In this role, you will participate and contribute to the entire development life cycle from beginning to end ensuring every aspect of the system has been thoroughly tested and passes YOUR quality standards. You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and experience testing IT systems. If you are also competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly
  • Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of testing software (e.g. Breaking Point Ixia, iTest, Avalanche, etc.), Linux script execution, Windows OS navigation, and mySQL data validation
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Work well individually or in a group setting

You have the ability to work under pressure and time constraints. Highly competent to match your level of experience and expertise as QUALITY test engineer. As such, you will have at least 5-7 years of experience evolving, developing and executing thorough, concise quality test processes to ensure our product meets YOUR standards before you give it the rubber stamp. You will have a solid understanding of Linux AND Windows systems to troubleshoot basic flows of data. You will have a solid foundation of networking concepts to support troubleshooting when your tests do not succeed as expected. You will have the confidence to recommend and revise current processes to ensure when YOU say the product is ready, it’s ready for production. You will interact with teammates from all aspects of the product life cycle from systems engineers to developers to configuration management and operations. Our product truly contributes to the safety of our society and your role will be key to our success.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI

Desired: Ixia certification preferred; BS in related field or experience commensurate with a degree
