Vertical Manager

Job Overview:
Manage all aspects of Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Backstage vertical transportation administration including vertical violations, compliance, and invoice process. Be an integral part of the Facility Management team by supporting all Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Backstage locations and obtaining quick resolution to all vertical maintenance and compliance issues within each store. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
• Coaching, mentoring and development of direct reports.
• Co-manage or lead with the Vertical Director, Facilities field team, and contracted vendors for prompt resolution /completion of all vertical repairs, violations and associated invoices.
• Execution of task management including oversight of vertical violations, compliance , repairs and reporting:
o Payment Processing: Create expense apron to request checks to promptly pay vendors and jurisdictions for inspection fees, permit/certificate fees/costs external to the vendor contracts in an efficient and extremely accurate manner. Log check requests/receipts and process checks for payment submittal
o Coordinating the scheduling of all Vertical Inspections with national vendor as well as follow up on completion of all deficiencies found.
o Planning and executing pre inspection communication for routine maintenance on equipment prior to inspections.
o Update Vertical Asset Attributes promptly and correctly as the inspection process proceeds and attach permits/certs received to the correct specific asset as well as National vertical Compliance tracker.
o Reporting: Ensure accurate vertical status reports, 3 day down and 2 day down prioritizing locations, report is generated routinely to facilitate communication both internally and with our vendors.
• Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills coupled with good written and verbal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow up skills with ability to prioritize and achieve target dates.
• Strong working relationship with facilities and store executives, vertical vendors and jurisdictional
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of Engineering Experience
• Understanding of vertical violations and processing requirements preferred.
• Working knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and processes desired.
Communication Skills:
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents/reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to compose concise and professional business communications.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Strong accuracy in mathematical functions
Reasoning Ability:
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and oversee team of analysts and associates.
Physical Demands:
• This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking.
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
• This position requires prolonged computer sessions.
Other Skills:
• Strong computer skills, including but not limited to: Excel, Word, Outlook, Acrobat and eAM
• Must be extremely organized, detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Work Hours:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
