Sr Sourcing Manager

Working as a Senior Contract Manager, you will manage, negotiate, monitor and source vendor technology contracts with a particular focus in the areas of Software, SaaS, third party Cloud (IaaS and PaaS) services and related category offerings for internal enterprise wide, entertainment group, marketing and advertising groups consumption.


You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating new agreements, drafting and issues RFx events, providing interpretation of terms and conditions of contractual obligations as well as negotiate contract modifications, follow-up quotations, revisions, and terms and conditions with vendors.



Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides interpretation of terms and conditions of contractual obligations. Negotiate contract modifications, follow-up quotations, revisions, terms and conditions with vendors.
  • Responsible for the review and administration of long-term and/or blanket purchase contracts, and RFP processes. Responsible for commercial contract issues and terms, negotiations and/or administration of third party cloud service agreements including renewals, new business, contract commitments, contract and savings strategies, and payment structures.
  • Managing strategic relationships with business unit owners and vendors, understanding of application or use cases along across numerous corporate policies and stakeholder groups (technology, finance, legal, security, etc.), identifying and mitigating complex legal and compliance issues.
  • Sourcing of vendors, familiarity and/or interest in emerging technology focusing on related third party cloud services and cloud management tools, ability to gain understanding of industry to make educated recommendations about pricing, vendor selection, competition, market compression, optimization, etc.
  • Works closely with technical and financial teams to ensure lifecycle management for third party cloud service contracts across the enterprise. 
  • Establish key contract frameworks and KPIs for optimal vendor performance.
  • Administers contracts in accordance with company and customer policies and procedures, provide interpretation and analysis of contract documents and reviews and evaluates customer requests for changes in or revisions of contracts that involve technical specifications, cost, or schedule impact on the company.
  • Manages commercial contract issues, negotiations and/or administration of licensing agreements including renewal, new business, invoicing, credit holds, receivable issues and consolidations
  • Assists in the development of long and short-term objectives to ensure that programs and efforts are directed toward achieving company goals and cost savings. May initiate corrective action to assure objectives are met.
  • Assists in the establishment and administration of business unit policies, procedures and systems.
  • Assist in the development of long- and short-term objectives to ensure that programs and efforts are directed toward achieving company goals
  • Participates in the development of forecasts and budgets for area of responsibility.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Conduct industry, product and cost analysis comparisons in a synthesized and streamlined format to be able to provide sourcing recommendations to business units and drive targeted ongoing negotiations with technology providers.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and exercise judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Analyses of contractual risks (legal, security, financial) and develops long term strategy to mitigate risks to company and helps draft new terms and templates for overall process improvement.
  • The Senior Contract Manager typically reports into the 3rd Level of Management

Required Qualifications:

  • Five or more years’ experience in drafting, negotiation, and management of strategic supplier relationships and contracts
  • Ability to manage intense workload with short timeframes
  • Ability to learn, understand, and input into AT&T’s technology strategy, including Cloud, Open Source Software , Virtual Network Functions and network architectures
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, legal drafting of custom language and communication skills
  • Business, cost management and quality experience
  • Structured process orientated approach
  • Skilled in independently creating and generating Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and “What-If” scenario financial modeling and analysis for complex comparative sourcing events.
  • Understanding of complex contractual terms and conditions including intellectual property ownership.
  • Ability to generate comprehensive commercial deal sheet terms by fully understanding client requirements, usage and budget forecasts, supplier products/services and defining flexibility terms to adequately support contractual use by multiple business unit.
  • Strong Business Acumen.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum Graduate/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Procurement, business, law or CPM experience, Finance, or Graduate/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Juris Doctor degree a plus
  • Prior experience with a major/minor entertainment or technology company
  • The ability and willingness to provide and receive honest and direct feedback to/from team members
  • Demand planning and/or resource planning is a plus
  • Excellent Excel & Power Point skills
