System Administrator Senior (Government)

AT&T - OAKTON, Virginia

The System Analyst is responsible for performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, system and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups; performing regular security monitoring to identify vulnerabilities and any possible intrusions; setting up and managing frequent and regular (at least daily) backup operations, ensuring that all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to appropriate media, plus creating recovery tapes or disks as necessary; performing regular file archive and purge as necessary; applying OS patches for RHEL and Windows servers; configuring/adding new services as necessary; and performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource, optimization as required, plus configuring CPU, memory and disk partitions as required.

Main Responsibilities:

• O&M of Linux RHEL systems
• O&M of MS Windows Server systems
• O&M of virtual environment that includes virtual servers and virtual routers
• O&M Oracle Servers
• O&M of multiple Network Management applications
• O&M of VCenter which includes the O&M of VM templates
• O&M of ESXi hosts
• O&M of hardware
• O&M of Oracle Databases

Candidate will also be responsible for maintaining operational, configuration, and other procedures
Competence in Linux shell scripting, web server and database management, router configuration, Windows and Linux systems management, etc. Basic understanding of networking and routing protocols, and be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Experience with Oracle Database administration, Cloud Technologies, and Software Defined Networking a plus.

Education: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor (4-year) degree, major in computer science or engineering or related field; MS in computer science preferred with a minimum of three, ideally five years, system administration experience.

Required Clearance: Upgradable to TS/SCI w/Poly
