The benefits attorney will support the Legal Employment team in handling projects that reflect the business clients’ current HR and benefits plan strategies. The attorney will provide legal advice and counsel in the areas of benefits plan design, implementation, and administration, tax qualification, investment strategy, legal compliance, fiduciary compliance/structure, legislative monitoring, regulatory interpretation and related functions
This attorney will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing legal risks and resources while promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and its standards of ethics and integrity. This position reports to a senior associate general counsel for Employment. This position will also work closely with internal Walmart HR directors and project managers, and will provide advice and counsel to senior directors and officers within the company where necessary.
The successful attorney will develop and foster relationships as a business partner with clients and develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
This position will also be required to manage financial resources and processes
