Position Summary:
•Work closely with the CEO in developing company’s plans for strategic growth. This includes identifying trends and growth opportunities in the ecommerce market; identifying strategic gaps in the market and researching opportunities to address these gaps. Present findings and recommendations to senior management for further development and support the regular communication of the Walmart eCommerce strategic plan and growth opportunities to senior level executives.
•Lead M&A and strategic projects by creating objectives, deliverables, and milestones for leadership and functional teams. Drive the development, incubation, and execution of new business opportunities as the general manager and lead a large cross-functional team through a long-term implementation.
•Provide consultation and expertise to management in order to develop M&A strategies for large acquisitions, mergers, or divestitures. Partner with business leaders to identify and evaluate targets to pursue that aligns with the overall business strategy and lead the development of final recommendation presentations.
•Identify and evaluate potential M&A/Joint Ventures/Partnerships and other inorganic growth opportunities and develop robust, investment grade business cases. Perform detailed target assessments and due diligence, strategic fit analysis, and oversee/support overall M&A and strategy projects.
•Develop strategic merger, acquisitions, or divestment recommendations by performing target assessments and due diligence, strategic fit analysis, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, working through the overall M&A process (ie. sourcing, due diligence, negotiations) with functional representatives, supporting integration planning; and building final recommendations on build vs. buy or divestment decisions.
•Provides overall direction for Mergers and Acquisitions by anayzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
Qualifications:
•BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, International Business, or related field. MBA preferred.
•5-8 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, management consulting, or strategic planning.
•Experience in corporate development/strategy for a Fortune 500 company or top tier investment bank preferred
•Familiarity with eCommerce, retail, consumer internet, and technology preferred
