The Comcast Engineering and Technology Internship Program is a summer program based at various Comcast locations throughout the greater US. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. As an intern in the program, you would expect to work a 40 hour/week schedule over the course of 11 weeks throughout the summer.

Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.
Professional development: You will be exposed to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions are inclusive of speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.
Mentorship: Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program (EFLP) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network.

Role Overview:
This is an internship position within the SE ADS-Analytical Data Service organization reporting to the Director and EDW and BI. The ADS group has responsibility for creating the EDW-Enterprise Data Warehouse to serve as a single version of truth for data analysis for Comcast business.
Intern Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops, tests and implements planned enhancements to existing production systems and new systems to support emerging business needs.
Follows directions from more senior developers to accomplish project objectives.
Collaborate with product development teams and senior designers to develop architectural requirements to ensure business requirements are met.
Work closely with data modelers, business data analysts, and BI developers to understand requirements, develop ETL processes, validate results, and deliver to production
Assist and verify design of solution and production of all design phase deliverables.
Develop & unit test Informatica ETL processes for optimal performance.
Maintains responsibility for unit testing and collaborates with other IT staff to ensure smooth deployment and ongoing management of the product.
Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a United States-based college or university
Major: Computer Engineering and Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Experience with Informatica Metadata Manager (9.1 or above) to capture technical and business metadata and build out data lineage.
Working Knowledge of Informatica Power-Center and ETL concepts.
Expert in data warehousing methodologies and best practices required.
Strong relational and dimensional data modeling skills required.
Strong data management and data analysis using SQL required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Effective interpersonal relations skills, ability to effectively collaborate with others and work as part of a team required.
Relational Database Experience Oracle and Teradata (BTEQ Scripts) preferred.
Plus-experience with Hadoop, MAP-R and Big Data
Ability to work independently and in group settings.
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Desire to enter the Media / Technology / Advertising industry upon graduation and passionate about innovation.
Well versed in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook)
