Position Summary:
Strategic Sourcing Specialist
We are currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our client account in Cincinnati, OH. This position will report to the Regional Sourcing Manager and on a matrix basis to our Regional Finance Director, and be responsible for “spot buying” purchases at facility and manufacturing plant locations. The position requires a good understanding of typical "buyer" related sourcing principles and budgetary management. In addition the position requires the ability to identify potential sourcing opportunities based on requisition data and conversations with site requestors. Specifically, based on market knowledge and preferred agreements, determine if a requisition should be competitively sourced. Strong negotiations skills are necessary as well as a strong understanding of general accounting, finance, and procurement practices.
Responsibilities
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and drive savings at the PO level
- Be able to read and understand Vendor agreements and apply to individual Purchasing Transactions
- Understand and execute against an annual sourcing goal
- Track and report sourcing savings, typically monthly
- Execute between 5-10 "spot buy" competitive sourcing opportunities per day
- Closely support sourcing and Facility Management teams to drive immediate benefits
- Ensure compliance to sourcing, procurement and contracting policies and procedures
- Detailed forecast analysis including Budget versus Actual spending and Forecast verses Actual spending
- Provide monthly actual spending reports to site leaders and assist in monthly forecasting of their budgets
- Annual Budget planning preparation and development in collaboration with Site Operations Team
- Detailed forecast analysis including Budget versus Actual spending and Forecast verses Actual spending
- Special projects and other functions as required by manager or Client with a focus on operational efficiency
- Process purchase requisitions
Key Performance Indicators
- Source in Compliance of JLL “Sourcing Guidelines” measured annually as part of the CSA Self Audit Process
- Ability to build relationships with key site requisitioners as well as broader JLL account team
- Purchase order account coding
- Strong collaboration with Finance team for transactional work
Requirements
- 2-3 years sourcing experience preferred
- Proven ability to build client and vendor relationships
- Understanding of JD Edwards OVF and potentially SAP (or similar ERP) purchasing transactions preferred
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to grow into Sourcing Manager Role
- College degree required
- Understanding of Procure to Pay process required
- Tactical and strategic abilities necessary to successfully complete daily Procurement, Sourcing and Contract duties
